According to a survey from WHO, each year road traffic injuries take away lives of 1.2 million men, women, and children around the globe and injure many more. The death toll is on the higher side for the countries where pedestrians, motorcyclists and passengers are vulnerable and vehicles lack the safety norms, like India. Here are some safety tips for different road users.
Participation in National and International Programmes.
On invitation of Road Peace; FPRA’s Secretary Mr. Bikash Mohapatra attended a conference on “Improving the post-crash response in London” 22 September, 2010 at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, London.
The Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, with support from the International Police Association in Turkey and a number of other partners, hosted the Third Global Meeting of NGOs for Road Safety.
The Fourth Global Meeting of Non-Governmental Organizations Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims was held on 13 and 14 March 2015 in Morocco with participation of 170 delegates from 52 countries.
The 5th GRSP Asia Seminar and iRAP Workshop with the theme 'Decade of Action' was held in Bangkok from 7th - 9th March 2012. A team of three delegates attended the programme on behalf of FPRA.
On behalf of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) and the Department of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India organized a Workshop.
International Road Federation (IRF) hold a meeting of group of experts on road safety at India Expo Center, Greater Noida on 3rd October 2013. Mr. N.K. Sinha, Chairman of IRF India Chapter.
The first ‘Delft Postgraduate Course Road Safety for Low and Middle Income Countries’ was held at TU Delft from 1 to 12 October 2012. This was a course for professionals who work in the field of road traffic safety.
The Safety 2010 World Conference took place in London, UK and was held on 21-24 September 2010. The conference brought stakeholders together in the prevention of unintentional injuries and violence.
