Ambulance Service for Road Accident Victims:
In collaboration with the Joy Jagannath Accidental Help Unit, the organization has been rendering invaluable assistance through their free ambulance services in the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. This service specifically aims to aid individuals injured in road accidents on the highways. Dedicated volunteers promptly rescue the victims and swiftly transport them to various esteemed hospitals for immediate medical attention. These hospitals include Ashwini Hospital, AMRI Hospital, SUM Hospital, SUM Ultimate Hospital, Kalinga Hospital, Utkal Hospital, KIMS Hospital, High-tech Hospital, Capital Hospital, AIMS Hospital, SCB Medical College Hospital, among others. To date, this initiative has successfully facilitated the transfer of approximately 203 road accident victims to the appropriate medical facilities, ensuring they receive timely and essential care. FPRA’s commitment to helping accident victims and providing them with critical medical aid exemplifies their commendable initiative.
World Day of Remembrance:
The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, designated by the United Nations, takes place on the third Sunday of November each year. This significant observance aims to heighten public awareness regarding road traffic accidents, their devastating consequences, and the preventive measures that can be implemented. It serves as a poignant reminder to governments and society at large of their shared responsibility to create safer roads. Over the past decade, the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims has been commemorated through a diverse array of events. These include heartrending personal storytelling by bereaved family members, the symbolic lighting of lamps, the offering of flowers in memory of road accident victims, and a moment of silence. Such events provide a platform to honor and remember those who have tragically lost their lives in road accidents. Moreover, they play a vital role in raising public awareness about the utmost importance of road safety and the critical need for preventive measures. The impactful sharing of victims’ testimonies through videos has successfully drawn attention to the staggering toll of traffic-related deaths and injuries, emphasizing the risks faced by all road users.
